The Money Museum of the Magyar Nemzeti Bank is a prime example of why it is worth to rethink the meaning of the word: "museum". The Money Museum does not simply display its spectacular 60,000-piece coin collection to show a fragment of the history of money, the experience is much more comprehensive and multi-faceted. Visitors are taken on a carefully constructed journey of discovery around the world of money in the 1,300 square metre exhibition space, which is accompanied by interactive games running on 80 terminals, spectacular visual displays, and animations. The different tools, artworks, platforms, publications, and events are all built around a common message and message. The Money Museum will thus become both a national bastion of financial education and a prominent member of the international museum world.
