This year's European Museum Academy (EMA) conference, co-organized by the Hungarian Money Museum and Visitor Center in budapest, has ended. Museum professionals from 30 countries attended the multi-day professional program, where they participated in inspiring professional programmes and workshops and had the opportunity to visit the Money Museum, winner of the 2023 DASA Award.

The Heritage in Motion award ceremony was held on Thursday in the Lámfalussy Conference Room of the Magyar Nemzeti Bank, where the Hands Deep – A Journey Into Demoscene (FI) project was announced as the winner.

At the closing event on September 27, awards in three additional categories were presented at the Aranybástya restaurant. This year, the DASA Award went to Salon Stolz (Graz, AT), the Luigi Micheletti Award went to Obersalzberg Documentation Center (Berchtesgaden, DE), and the Art Museum Award went to Irish Museum of Modern Art (Dublin, IE)
This year’s Audience Award went to the House of Music Hungary.

These awards are among the highest honours in the museum profession:
The DASA Award recognizes the quality of museum exhibitions and educational programs, highlighting the wide range of learning opportunities.
The Luigi Micheletti Award is one of the most prestigious awards in the European museum world, recognizing innovation in museums dealing with contemporary history, industry, and science, with a particular emphasis on outstanding, experiential storytelling.
The Art Museum Award focuses on the social role of European art museums and rewards projects that place art in a new, innovative context in order to reflect on current social issues.
