How to get to the Money Museum?

For those arriving by public transport

Take the bus (lines 5, 16, 16A, 21A, 21A , 22, 22A, 39, 91, 102, 116, 128, 129, 139, 140, 140A, 149, 155, 156, 222) to the Széll Kálmán tér stop, then take a few minutes’ walk from there, through the tunnel to the main entrance in Sándy Gyula köz

Take the tram (lines 4, 6, 17, 56, 56A, 59, 59A, 59B, 61) to the Széll Kálmán tér stop, then take a few minutes’ walk from there, through the tunnel to the main entrance in Sándy Gyula köz

Take metro line M2 to the Széll Kálmán tér station, then take a few minutes’ walk from there, through the tunnel to the main entrance in Sándy Gyula köz

Take tram line 60 (Cogwheel Railway) to the Városmajor stop (final destination), then take a 20-minute walk from there, through Városmajor and Széll Kálmán tér to the main entrance in Sándy Gyula köz

Take the Volánbusz lines via Budakeszi út to the Széll Kálmán tér terminus, then take a few minutes’ walk from there, through the square to the main entrance in Sándy Gyula köz

The main entrance in Sándy Gyula köz can be reached from Széll Kálmán tér by a few minutes’ walk through the tunnel or the stairs.



For those arriving by train

from Déli pályaudvar: 20 minutes’ walk through the Vérmező, or 1 stop by tram (lines 17, 56, 56A, 59, 59A, 59B, 61) or by bus (lines 21, 21A, 102, 139, 140, 140A) to Széll Kálmán tér, then take a few minutes’ walk from there, through the tunnel to the main entrance in Sándy Gyula köz

from Nyugati pályaudvar: take tram line 4 or 6 to the Széll Kálmán tér terminus, then take a few minutes’ walk from there, through the tunnel to the main entrance in Sándy Gyula köz

from Keleti pályaudvar: take metro line M2 to the Széll Kálmán tér station, then take a few minutes’ walk from there, through the tunnel to the main entrance in Sándy Gyula köz


For wheelchair users

The building is accessible from the main entrance of the Money Museum. The entire visitor area of the museum is accessible.


Cloakroom


There is a cloakroom on the ground floor for coats, umbrellas, bags and backpacks larger than 30×40 cm, as well as key lockers which can be used with a HUF 100 or EUR 1 coin. Please ensure in advance to have coins with you as we are not able to exchange money.

Monday: 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. (School groups: 9:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m., individual visitors: 2:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m.)
Wednesday: 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. (School groups: 9:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m., individual visitors: 2:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m.)
Thursday: 9:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m. (School groups: 9:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m., individual visitors: 2:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.)
Friday: 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. (School groups: 9:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m., individual visitors: 2:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m.)
Saturday and Sunday: 10:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.
The museum is closed on Tuesdays.
