Romhány has rightfully become one of the most active guardians of the Rákóczi heritage, as s its historical significance is rooted in the fact that the Kuruc army’s final battle took place here in 1710.
To mark this significant anniversary, the local primary school— named after Ferenc Rákóczi II—organized a memorable event at the Máté Bereczki Cultural House. As part of an interactive museum education session, students explored the monetary system of the Rákóczi War of Independence and the foundations of freedom, guided by junior museologist and collection manager Balázs Kovács Jr.
The program not only provided valuable historical insight but also brought the events of the past closer to students in an engaging and immersive way.
We are grateful for the opportunity to be part of this valuable initiative.
