György Pálinkás

György Pálinkás

György Pálinkás started working at the Banknote Printing Company in 1986. He studied reproduction graphics as a copper engraver apprentice at the Graphic Art School of the Banknote Printing Company. His first artwork was the engraving on the reverse of the 2000 forint denomination when the new forint series was issued in 1998. Furthermore, he was also involved in the engraving of several reverse graphics including the reverse of the 500 forint banknote issued to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Hungarian Revolution of 1956 in 2006.
Embracing modern times, he also acquired a college degree as an engineer and IT specialist; therefore, he alone re-designed and engraved the banknotes of the new forint series issued in 2014, using portraits and reverse images of Károly Vagyóczky.
Besides designing banknotes, he also experimented with stamp design. Apart from two other editions, the engraving of the image of the intaglio stamps on the special versions of the miniature sheet designed by Attila Elekes to commemorate the 150th anniversary of the publication of the Hungarian stamp is also attributed to him.
Among banknotes, the two study banknotes designed and engraved by György Pálinkás are a real treat, showcasing the top-notch technology used in Hungarian banknote production and design. Sample banknotes depict Ottó Herman and Ferenc Puskás.
