On April 28, 2026, the Money Museum offered museum institutions the opportunity for the first time to have material analysis performed on selected pieces from their numismatic collections using a handheld XRF spectrometer.
The measurements were performed by the museum’s qualified restorer, and the results were provided to the participating institutions in documented form—all free of charge.
XRF technology enables the rapid and reliable determination of an object’s material composition. The goal of the project is to gain a more precise understanding of the material composition of the objects and to support professional analysis.
The initiative will continue shortly.
