Welcome address by the Director of the Hungarian Money Museum and Visitor Center
Dear Visitor!
Welcome to our website. The primary aim of the Money Museum is to promote financial education to the widest possible audience. We present the past, present and future of money in a playful, interactive way, alongside a series of exciting stories.
Our every visitor can lift a 12.5 kg gold bar from the Hungarian reserves, trade virtual money on the stock exchange and even try their hand at being a monetary council member. At the end of the visit, everyone can take home a banknote of their own design and portrait. In the museum, the Path of Money is presented in five nodes, starting with the oldest means of payment, continuing with the history of gold mines and old coins, and ending with the most exciting financial processes of today.
At the end of the visit, we also welcome our visitors to the café of the museum.
Even the people who cannot visit us in person do not have to miss out on the Money Museum experience, because we can bring our key knowledge to schools in the form of an exciting 45-minute lesson thanks to our Travelling Museum programme.
Our museum is Access4You certified, meaning that the visitor center is accessible for wheelchair users, people with reduced mobility or those arriving with baby strollers.
